Developer Team lead

INGENIOUS.BUILD is building the operating system for construction and real estate development. The company works with some of the largest organizations in the world, helping teams manage major infrastructure investments through their platform. They are a product-driven engineering organization focusing heavily on AI adoption as a way to deliver more customer value.

• People management experience including leading developers, 1:1s, and team processes.
• Strong backend engineering skills with advanced PHP 8.1+ and Laravel or Symfony, building large scalable applications.
• Technical leadership experience making architecture and design decisions.
• Hands-on AI adoption experience using AI tools in daily engineering work.
• Product mindset focused on business impact and solution shaping.
• Solid testing experience with PHPUnit and testing strategies across unit, integration, and functional tests.
• English language proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have:

• Experience with modular monoliths or microservices.
• Practical experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Background in SaaS including large systems like ERP, CRM, or CMS.
• Experience in startups or scale-ups involving direct product decision making by engineers.

Lead the team:

• Run regular 1:1 meetings, monitor performance, and support engineer growth including compensation and career discussions.
• Own high-level planning and prioritization together with Product and Design.
• Build and improve team processes that keep the senior team synchronized and effective without bureaucracy.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.

Drive AI adoption:

• Lead AI transformation in the team and set the pace.
• Use AI to research systems, identify gaps, automate tasks, and speed up delivery.
• Experiment with AI tools and workflows, standardize effective solutions, and share across engineering.
• Seek ways AI can deliver business value like lowering costs, shortening delivery, improving quality, and enabling new solutions.

Build the product:

• Stay hands-on writing and reviewing code, and owning technical direction of the team's modules.
• Make architectural decisions in a large modular monolith.
• Use customer insights to challenge solutions and prioritize development.
• Improve the codebase by reducing legacy code, adding tests, and updating dependencies.
