Staff Product Engineer, Agentic Identity & Governance, AI Platform

Redpanda is a unified platform combining streaming, SQL analytics, and intelligent connectivity with a governance layer designed for enterprise AI agents in production, trusted by Fortune 500 companies and startups.

• 10+ years of software development with deep expertise in authentication, authorization, or identity systems
• Production experience with OAuth 2.0, OAuth 2.1, OIDC, token exchange/delegation patterns (e.g., RFC 8693, on-behalf-of flows), and running authorization servers/token vaults at scale
• Knowledge of agent identity standards including MCP auth, A2A, and cross-app access patterns (e.g., Okta XAA, Entra Agent ID, Auth0 for AI Agents)
• Experience designing systems integrating with enterprise identity providers (Okta, Entra, Ping)
• Proven track record influencing technical direction across multiple teams or organizations
• Comfortable working in a globally distributed team using GitHub
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences

Nice to have:

• Direct experience building or operating OAuth 2.1/OIDC authorization servers or token vaults in production
• Experience with agent-specific identity or delegation protocols (MCP auth, A2A, cross-app access/token exchange patterns)
• Contributions to or close tracking of open standards bodies or working groups related to identity, OAuth, or agent authorization
• Experience in regulated or security-sensitive enterprise environments with direct customer security review
• Prior Staff or Principal-level IC experience driving technical direction across multiple engineering organizations

• Own the technical direction for AuthN, AuthZ, and OBO across Agentic Data Platform and the Cloud platform
• Design and build OAuth 2.1 authorization servers, token vaults, delegated tool-access flows, and cryptographic delegation models
• Partner with identity-federation surfaces like Okta, Entra, and Ping for local access enforcement
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, Security, and Product teams to ensure customer security review compliance
• Represent Redpanda's technical position on agent identity externally
• Ship production-hardened systems, not just architecture proposals
• Mentor engineers across platforms on identity and access concepts
• Escalate systemic challenges and impediments to engineering leadership
• Discuss strategic topics with peers and Directors
• Track progress, assess risks, and communicate contingency and mitigation plans
