Senior Data Engineer Remote

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a diverse, product-minded team and support an important data transformation project. This is a 3–4 month full-time project focused on transforming an existing backend based on multiple Google Spreadsheets into a stable and scalable Data Warehouse solution. The data platform runs on Google Cloud Platform, with BigQuery as the data warehouse and dbt as the core transformation framework.

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, particularly with DBT or similar frameworks; experience with Python is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
• Experience with Fivetran or a similar modern data integration tool.
• Strong experience working with cloud-based Data Warehouses.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling and designing efficient database schemas.
• Experience building and maintaining scalable ELT / data pipelines.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of independence and ownership.

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in Terraform and GitHub Actions.

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using DBT, Fivetran, and Metabase.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver business-aligned solutions.
• Develop and maintain ELT workflows to extract, load, and transform data from diverse sources into a centralized cloud data warehouse.
• Implement and maintain robust dimensional models, staging layers, marts, and transformation logic following best practices.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand data workflows and provide technical support.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data-related issues.
• Build and improve a modern development environment and CI/CD system to ensure scalable and reliable data delivery.
• Ingest data from various external systems via APIs.
