Data Visualization Developer with Spotfire

This role is within the pharmaceutical industry, focused on data visualization and analytical application development using Spotfire, R, and Python. The project is remote, conducted in English, and lasts until 31.03.2027 on a B2B contract.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with scientists, analysts, developers, and IT professionals of varying technical expertise.
• Experience gathering and translating user needs into practical, user-friendly analytical solutions.
• Experience designing and developing interactive dashboards in Spotfire or comparable platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles, dashboard usability, and visual communication.
• Experience using code in R and/or Python for data preparation, analysis, statistical methods, or analytical application development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data quality and detail.
• Curiosity and willingness to understand scientific questions, data, and workflows.
• Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in data science, computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, natural sciences, engineering, or related area.

Nice to have:

• Scientific background or experience working directly with scientists and research data.
• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, APIs, or modern data platforms.
• Experience with statistical analysis or scientific computing.
• Familiarity with development practices such as version control, testing, code review, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of data governance, information security, or regulated research environments.

• Build trusted relationships with scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand their research questions and workflows.
• Facilitate requirement discussions and translate complex scientific and business needs into technical and visualization requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and analytical applications primarily in Spotfire.
• Translate complex scientific and analytical data into clear, intuitive, and actionable visualizations.
• Develop and maintain R and Python data functions for data preparation, statistical analysis, modeling, and visualization.
• Apply data visualization and user-experience best practices to create informative and accessible dashboards.
• Prepare, transform, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources.
• Optimize dashboard performance, data loading, usability, and maintainability.
• Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to dashboard users.
• Develop reusable visualization components and contribute to shared development standards.
• Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams on integration, security, access, and deployment.
• Stay informed about developments in data visualization, Spotfire, analytical programming, and scientific data analysis.
