Senior Software Engineer

Upside is a software consultancy partnering with global companies to solve complex technical challenges, focusing on Applied AI and R&D with production-grade platforms and open-source tools like the Enthusiast AI framework. They operate in a Forward-Deployed model with small, autonomous, cross-functional teams working directly with clients.

• 5+ years of experience building web applications, preferably with Python frameworks.
• Completed university degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of monoliths, microservices, and messaging patterns.
• Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL and performance optimization at scale.
• Practical experience with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Proactive, technology-driven mindset ready to experiment.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude or Cursor.
• Fluent English (C1) for client collaboration.

• Own the architecture and implementation of complex backend systems.
• Identify systemic risks and propose actionable solutions.
• Work directly with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technology.
• Share observations and lessons learned to help the team improve.
• Lead the implementation of Applied AI to improve products.
