DevOps Engineer (AI, GitLab)

Sopra Steria is a major European tech company specializing in consulting, digital services, and software development with over 55,000 employees worldwide. The Polish branch operates in Katowice as a Global Delivery Center since 2007 with about 1,000 specialists. The Digital Platform Services department focuses on cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup, storage, networking, and security, supporting multiple languages. The Application Services department handles software development, data engineering, testing, CRM, ITSM, ERP integrations, and application management for Northern European and UK clients.

• Advanced (+5 years) experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise (+3 years) in Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Good knowledge of Data Science and Machine Learning principles and AI frameworks such as Haystack, LangChain.
• Expertise with cloud services like AWS or Azure.
• Proficiency in using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Proficiency in Python and development tools like GIT, GitLab, Jira, Confluence.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools including structured logging, metrics collection with tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
• Familiarity with database management systems such as PostgreSQL and search engines like Elastic Search.
• EU citizenship and located in Poland.
• Fluent English at B2/C1 level.
• Willingness for occasional business trips and office visits in Katowice.

Nice to have:

• Security clearance.

• Design and maintain AI infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments including compute, storage, networking, and GPU resources.
• Automate deployment pipelines by building and maintaining CI/CD and MLOps pipelines.
• Manage containerisation and orchestration using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support transitioning machine learning models from development to production with versioning and traceability.
• Monitor systems and model services implementing logging, alerting, and performance tracking.
• Optimize infrastructure and deployment for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Implement security and compliance controls for infrastructure and data protection.
• Manage environments and configuration using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, developers, cybersecurity specialists, and business teams.
• Support data and model lifecycle governance including versioning, auditability, and recovery.
• Troubleshoot incidents, deployment issues, and improve operational efficiency continuously.
