Senior QA Tester (games)

GOG Sp. z o.o. operates in the gaming industry, focusing on preserving and enhancing digital games. The team is part of the Build Production group, reporting to the Publishing Technical Manager and working on cross-platform game testing and launcher integrations.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience in software/game testing with proactive and analytical approach
• Ability to independently handle complex testing tasks and manage risks
• Deep expertise in cross-platform testing on Windows, macOS, and Linux
• Excellent written and spoken English; strong communication and leadership skills
• Solid understanding of basic hardware/software setups, DRM, and emulation tools like DOSBox and ScummVM
• Practical knowledge of building games using automated tools
• Understanding of Game QA testing concepts
• Interest in utilizing automation and AI tools to increase efficiency

Nice to Have / Willingness to Learn:

• Hands-on experience with JIRA or similar bug-tracking systems
• Basic understanding of command-line prompts and JSON file structures
• Basic programming skills or willingness to learn (e.g., Python) to assist in automation

Core QA Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive functional testing on Windows, macOS, and Linux across games, platform integrations, and tools
• Support and prepare game builds across Windows, macOS, and Linux
• Take full ownership of key testing projects from start to finish
• Log detailed reproducible bugs in JIRA, verify fixes, and prepare thorough post-test reports
• Research game-related issues to mitigate risks
• Manage, test, and troubleshoot cloud saves, platform overlays, and related services
• Set up, maintain, and manage testing environments and hardware configurations

Leadership & Process Improvement:

• Improve workflows and automation, lead implementation of new testing solutions
• Mentor junior team members, act as stand-in for Team Leader/Coordinator
• Ensure team tasks and milestones are met on schedule
