Data Scientist – ML Engineer

emagine Polska operates within a large European financial group focusing on AI and machine learning innovations.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Over 3 years of hands-on experience in machine learning and AI development.
• Expertise in Generative AI including model training, fine-tuning, and deployment.
• Experience with open-source and commercial Large Language Models.
• Proficiency in implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
• Experience with vector databases.
• Advanced programming skills in Python with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face.
• Deep understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and architectures.
• Practical experience with traditional AI/ML methods including decision trees, Support Vector Machines (SVMs), clustering, and neural networks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) for AI/ML deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Fluency in English at C1 level or higher is mandatory.
• Willingness to learn French.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF).
• Familiarity with prompt engineering.
• Understanding of ethical AI principles and model interpretability.
• Fluency in French is a plus.

• Design and deploy machine learning models and tailored AI solutions.
• Fine-tune and extend Large Language Models (LLMs), including open-source and commercial models.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques for enhanced model efficiency.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering.
• Develop Generative AI models for content creation and process automation.
• Apply traditional ML methods such as decision trees, SVMs, and neural networks.
• Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Ensure high-quality AI solutions through rigorous testing and validation.
• Maintain technical documentation for knowledge sharing and reproducibility.

This position is hybrid with on-site presence required 2 times per week at Parque das Nações, Lisbon.
