Engineering Manager, Big Data

The Big Data Group at Adform is responsible for processing, storing, and delivering meaningful information within the Adform Flow product and to external clients. The group transforms raw internet data into valuable information stored in Vertica and HDFS. It includes several development teams focused on building microservices handling real-time data across domains like DMP, Reporting, Algo, and Research.

• Proven leadership experience managing backend or cross-functional engineering teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to align engineers, product, and business stakeholders
• Experience in project delivery using agile practices, prioritisation, and balancing short- and long-term goals
• Ability to mentor and grow engineers fostering career development and high performance
• Solid understanding of engineering best practices
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills balancing technical depth and business impact
• Track record driving operational excellence in performance, reliability, and incident management

Nice to have:

• Technical background in backend engineering, distributed systems, or Big Data
• Understanding of Big Data and cloud technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop, Vertica, and public cloud platforms
• Experience working in AdTech or other data-intensive technology domains
• Experience leading technically strong engineering teams and fostering ownership and continuous improvement

• Hire, mentor, and grow engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning
• Plan, prioritise, and oversee execution of backend projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
• Collaborate with product owners, development teams, and architects to meet business goals
