GCP Data Engineer - Fund & Portfolio Services (Banking)

This is a consulting role for a client in the Banking & Finance industry focused on developing a next-generation cloud data warehouse platform in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Extensive experience designing and implementing data integration solutions, data models, and scalable data pipelines within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong knowledge of data onboarding processes and best practices for integrating data from multiple source systems
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and dbt (Data Build Tool) for data transformation, modeling, and automation
• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, focusing on automation and platform reliability
• Experience with GitLab and GitHub, and modern version control practices in an Agile environment
• Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong focus on testing, quality assurance, and test automation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and teams
• Experience mentoring and coaching developers, and contributing to technical architecture
• Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)

• Deliver end-to-end solutions including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and stakeholder engagement
• Collaborate closely with business and technical teams
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring developers and conducting code reviews
• Promote best practices and contribute to architecture and design decisions
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure reliability and performance of data platforms and pipelines
