Junior Software Engineer

Charles River Development (CRD) is the FinTech division of State Street developing the cloud-based front office technology for the State Street Alpha® Platform. The CRD / Alpha® Platform Engineering organization is innovating by moving to cloud-based technologies including Microsoft Azure, Kafka, and Snowflake. The company has seen significant growth (>135% in headcount over five years) and invests in solutions, systems, and talent.

• B.S. or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field.
• 0 to 2 years of professional or equivalent college project experience.
• Interest and passion for building high quality software in the FinTech space.
• Ideally initial experience with Java, PowerShell, batch scripts, and knowledge of C#.
• Experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Analytical and solution-oriented mindset with effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to collaborate well within a team environment.
• Availability to work from office 2-3 times per week.

• Contribute under senior guidance to analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of enhancements within the CRD/Alpha Platform including core frameworks and critical system components.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to create simple, sustainable software solutions.
• Participate fully in agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Engage in formal and on-the-job trainings to develop career competencies.
