Automation Engineer

This role is for a major EU agency engaged in a large-scale IT operations programme. The position is delivered through a specialist staffing partner and is fully on-site at the agency's headquarters in Warsaw. The environment is highly regulated, requiring a Personal Security Clearance.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform or VMware ARIA Automation
• Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux Red Hat configuration and automation
• Experience collaborating with multiple support groups
• Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL-based change, configuration, and release management processes
• Good organisational and prioritising skills
• Proactive attitude, team-work spirit, and self-motivation with strong user orientation
• Good communication skills
• Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies

• Design, implement, and maintain automated systems and tools for IT operations, including provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, deployment, and incident response across VMware, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Windows Server, and Linux Red Hat
• Analyse existing IT processes and workflows to identify improvements and develop automation strategies
• Write scripts and develop code using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate routine tasks, data processing, and system integration
• Use configuration management tools like Ansible and infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform and VMware ARIA Automation to automate infrastructure provisioning and management
• Recommend and implement IT best practices
• Implement changes according to ICT change management procedures
• Provide 2nd line support to other IT teams and coordinate with 3rd line support
• Update technical documentation and operating procedures
• Evaluate and implement IT security standards
• Participate in coordination and project meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

The role requires Personal Security Clearance (level to be confirmed at contracting stage). The position is fully on-site in Warsaw, Poland. Engagement is via framework contract through a Specific Contract with renewal terms per the framework. The selection process includes a written test and interview.
