Test Engineer – Embedded Systems / HIL (Defence & Security)

We are looking for Test Engineers at Mid and Senior level to join the testing team on a project developing embedded systems for the defence domain. Testing on the project is based primarily on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments, where software is verified on real hardware against simulated operating conditions. The project requires compliance with demanding industry and NATO standards (STANAG). The place of work is Wrocław, and the form of cooperation is full-time employment contract.

• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environment configuration and maintenance
• Skilled in designing test cases using boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and decision tables
• Proficient in developing and maintaining automated tests in Python
• Ability to read and understand C and C++ code for system behaviour analysis
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and debuggers
• Knowledge of communication protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN (Nice to have)
• Experience with serial and TCP interfaces (Nice to have)
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as pytest, Robot Framework (Nice to have)
• Experience integrating HIL tests into CI/CD pipelines (Nice to have)
• Experience working in V-model projects and regulated environments (Nice to have)
• Background in defence or security sector (Nice to have)
• Knowledge of NATO standards, including STANAG (Nice to have)
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification (Nice to have)

• Configure and maintain HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) test environments
• Execute HIL tests and analyse test results
• Design test cases using techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and decision tables
• Analyse requirements for testability and translate them into test cases
• Develop and maintain automated tests in Python
• Read and understand C/C++ code to analyse system behaviour
• Work with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and debuggers
• Create clear defect reports and test reports
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders in English
• Support projects requiring compliance with NATO (STANAG) standards
• Work on-site from the Wrocław office
• Participate in the security clearance process when required

Additionally for Senior level:

• Design and develop HIL test setups
• Build and enhance automated test frameworks
• Plan and execute advanced HIL testing scenarios, including fault injection and robustness testing
• Independently plan testing activities and estimate testing effort
• Mentor junior testers and support team development
• Review test cases and automated test code
• Contribute to testing strategy and process improvements

Work on-site from the Wrocław office. Participation in the security clearance process when required.
