Senior Frontend Engineer, Launchpad

• 5+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production-grade web applications, component libraries, or frontend platform infrastructure.
• Deep hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, AI developer assistants (e.g., Claude Skills, Cursor) for code generation, automated refactoring, documentation extraction, or workflow automation.
• Experience designing intelligent pipelines, evaluation harnesses, or context-aware AI integrations.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ESNext), and React with knowledge of modern React patterns.
• Thorough understanding of modern CSS architectures including CSS Modules, Design Tokens, CSS variables/custom properties, CSS isolation/scoping strategies, and animation patterns.
• Experience with monorepos (Nx, Turborepo, Yarn/pnpm workspaces), module bundling (Webpack, Rollup, Vite, Module Federation), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Focus on web accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), cross-browser compatibility, web performance vitals, automated testing.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) for articulating technical trade-offs, writing architectural specs, and driving domain-wide consensus.

Nice to have:

• Experience with i18n/l10n frameworks (FormatJS, react-intl, i18next), CLDR/ICU standards, bidirectional/RTL layouts, TMS synchronizations (Smartling, Transifex, Phrase).
• Hands-on with Micro-Frontend architecture, Module Federation, decoupled web runtimes, cross-application singleton providers.
• Familiarity with client-side event tracking, product analytics (Pendo, Segment), Telemetry/Real User Monitoring (Datadog / RUM).

Evolve Global Experience & Localization Infrastructure:

• Expand and maintain high-throughput i18n/l10n workflows, Translation Management System integrations, ICU/CLDR formatters, and dynamic locale-switching.

Architect & Scale Core Frontend Platform Systems:

• Own, evolve, and modernize Box’s core UI design system with standards for styling isolation and design token theming.

Champion AI-Driven Developer Productivity & Product Capabilities:

• Integrate AI tools, coding agents, LLM-assisted migration workflows, codemods, AI skill integrations, and intelligent assistants to enhance developer velocity and operational efficiency.

Drive Monorepo & Tooling Excellence:

• Advance frontend build pipelines using Nx, Yarn 4, Webpack/Vite, and CI/CD automated gates ensuring efficient developer workflows.

Cross-Domain Technical Leadership & Collaboration:

• Partner with Product Management, UX Design Systems, Architecture SIGs, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable multi-quarter initiatives.

Mentor & Elevate:

• Guide and mentor peers, participate in architectural design reviews, and promote a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Boxers are expected to work from their assigned office a minimum of 3 days per week, focusing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
