Android Team Lead – India Collaboration Experience

BRAVER IT is an international technology company offering a role to work on modern mobile applications with experienced engineers from different countries and cultural backgrounds.

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with significant hands-on Android development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Deep understanding of the Android SDK, Android application lifecycle, and modern Android development practices.
• Strong experience with Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, sockets, routing, and network connectivity concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting complex networking and connectivity issues on Android.
• Strong understanding of Android security principles including secure storage, encryption, authentication, and certificate/TLS concepts.
• Experience using Git and modern software development workflows.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience writing unit tests and UI/integration tests.
• Strong understanding of Android performance optimization and memory management.
• Experience working with international teams, especially with India-based teams or stakeholders.
• Experience working on applications distributed via the Google Play Store.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing VPN, proxy, firewall, network security, or privacy-focused applications.
• Experience with VPN protocols such as OpenVPN, IKEv2/IPSec, V2Ray, WireGuard, or similar.
• Experience with native Android development using NDK/C/C++.
• Experience analyzing network traffic using Wireshark, tcpdump, or similar tools.
• Experience with Android security hardening and application protection.
• Experience with CI/CD systems and automated Android build and release pipelines.

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of new features for the VPN application.
• Work extensively with Android networking and VPN technologies including network interfaces, DNS, routing, connectivity, and traffic management.
• Design solutions for complex networking scenarios such as Wi-Fi/mobile transitions, connection failures, captive portals, DNS issues, and intermittent connectivity.
• Collaborate closely with backend, networking, QA, product, and security teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Investigate and resolve production issues using logs, crash reports, performance metrics, and debugging tools.
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions, establishing engineering best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Mentor junior and mid-level Android developers.
• Improve development processes, testing practices, CI/CD, release processes, and overall engineering quality.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders based in India, working across time zones during CET/CEST hours.
