Lead Engineer

FinanSys is a company with a 28+ year track record in innovation, specializing in next-gen finance automation software and robotic accounting. The UniFi platform is a financial process automation tool built on .NET and React, running on AWS with PostgreSQL (Aurora) and SQL Server, using CI/CD in Azure DevOps. The product supports processes ERP systems do not cover and has an established customer base moving beyond SunSystems and NetSuite.

• 8+ years building software, with 3+ years leading a team while still coding
• Production experience with .NET (C#), and familiarity with React or comparable frontend
• PostgreSQL performance expertise including query plans, indexing, connection pooling, and Aurora specifics
• Designed and managed AWS architecture including IAM, networking, RDS/Aurora, and cost control
• Ownership of CI/CD: Azure DevOps or equivalent, branch protection, pipeline secrets
• Experience leading stability or performance turnarounds on live products
• Experience with ERP, FMS, or finance systems
• Strong written communication skills for diagnosis, design notes, and release notes
• Multi-tenant SaaS experience
• Fluent English (C1), comfortable with UK working hours

Nice to have:

• SQL Server experience alongside PostgreSQL
• Integration or connector work against ERPs or finance systems
• Practical experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 controls
• Experience stabilizing codebases from departing teams
• Finance or accounting background, or experience in product companies under 200 employees

• Own the UniFi architecture: .NET services, React front end, PostgreSQL on Aurora, SQL Server, and AWS
• Own platform performance and stability, including diagnosis, fix planning, and delivery
• Manage the AWS estate with the DevOps engineer: environments, cost, monitoring, backups, deployment pipeline
• Run fortnightly releases with QA sign-off, release notes, and rollback procedures
• Lead, hire, and develop engineers with standards, code reviews, and growth management
• Own ERP connectors and posting engine with backend engineer: SunSystems, NetSuite, and Data Connector
