Senior Test Automation Engineer

co.brick talents is recruiting for a Senior Test Automation Engineer with a strong programming focus on Java and backend testing. The role involves working approximately 70% on Backend / API and 30% on Frontend tasks, building test automation frameworks from scratch, and mentoring team members.

• Minimum 5 years experience in test automation.
• Strong knowledge of Java, including advanced features such as Stream API, Optional, lambdas, and memory management.
• Practical experience creating test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience with API test automation using RestAssured and working with Postman.
• Good understanding of backend topics: HTTP protocol, authentication and authorization, idempotency, API response architecture.
• Knowledge of web/UI test automation tools: Selenium, Selenide, Cucumber, and test frameworks TestNG, JUnit.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD tools, and experience with Jira (X-ray is a plus).
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Ability to make autonomous technical decisions and remain resilient under project pressure.
• Proactive attitude, developed communication skills, and willingness to mentor others.

Nice to have:

• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Familiarity with mobile testing tools (Appium, XCUI Test).
• Knowledge of Cypress or JavaScript.

• Designing, building, and maintaining complex test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Planning and executing integration, system, and end-to-end (E2E) tests; supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Automating backend, API, and frontend tests.
• Collaborating closely with development teams to understand key application paths and ensure product stability.
• Performing code reviews and ensuring adherence to programming best practices (SOLID, KISS, OOP).
• Creating proof of concepts (PoC), implementing new tools, and supporting technical innovations.
• Mentoring and providing substantive support to team members.
