Database Administrator/Engineer

Benefit Systems International S.A. is the employer located in Warszawa, engaged in maintaining and developing cloud database environments using Microsoft Azure technologies.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in database administration or engineering.
• Experience working with databases in Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and modern data platform architectures.
• Knowledge of Azure Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Practical knowledge of replication mechanisms and High Availability.
• Experience designing and implementing Backup/Restore processes.
• Knowledge of database performance optimization and indexing.
• Experience integrating databases with other systems and services.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps and automation of database-related processes.
• Experience designing or maintaining Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) solutions.
• Ability to diagnose performance and availability problems of databases.
• Independence in problem analysis and technical solution design.
• English proficiency to work with technical documentation and international teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience in automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and Bicep.
• Experience designing architecture for new solutions.

• Configuration, administration, maintenance, and optimization of database environments.
• Management of databases across Linux, Windows, Azure, and on-premises platforms.
• Designing and maintaining database integrations with private Azure networks, Microsoft Entra ID, and Azure services.
• Designing and deploying new environments for international projects.
• Working with NoSQL databases, including Azure Cosmos DB.
• Configuring and maintaining replication and High Availability (HA) mechanisms.
• Designing and maintaining Backup/Restore processes and database copying.
• Optimizing database performance, including query analysis and index optimization.
• Configuring and optimizing Azure SQL Elastic Pools.
• Preparing and maintaining data integration processes with Microsoft Fabric.
• Configuring data replication from source databases to Microsoft Fabric.
• Integrating databases and data sources with Power BI and maintaining Power BI Gateway.
• Building and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines for database operations such as copying databases, creating databases from templates, environment preparation, data cleaning and anonymization, and automating administrative tasks.
• Collaborating with Cloud, Data Engineering, DevOps, and Business Intelligence teams.
• Analyzing production issues and participating in actions to ensure system continuity.
