Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Contact Team)

Tesco Technology's Contact team is part of Customers API, a platform holding core data about Tesco customers and powers personalized communication and experiences. The platform processes around 500 million customer attribute updates weekly, built as a cloud-native microservice architecture on Azure, evolving to Kubernetes for scalability and resilience.

• Around 6+ years of experience delivering Java.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Good English communication skills.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud solutions, and Terraform.
• Experience in system design.
• Experience taking ownership of projects and leading teams from technical/project perspective.
• Proactive attitude.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Azure.

• Develop high-quality software solutions with proficiency in Java (Spring Boot or other frameworks).
• Work with Microsoft Azure and Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) or demonstrate willingness to learn.
• Implement and advocate CI/CD best practices for seamless software delivery.
• Maintain high-quality documentation to support development and system design.
• Ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and efficient.
• Take ownership of systems, driving reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers to foster growth and collaboration.
• Automate workflows and build tools/scripts to enhance efficiency.
