Senior Backend Engineer - Configuration Team

The Configuration team manages core data, settings, licenses, and properties dictating application behavior for clients at Text. They develop and maintain high-traffic services, public APIs (Configuration API), and background processing mechanisms (Work-Queue) which support teams company-wide and impact the core ecosystem of TextApp.

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience in product-focused environments.
• Strong hands-on production experience with Go (Golang).
• Solid understanding of Node.js for maintenance and migration purposes.
• Experience designing, querying, and optimizing relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience operating services in production under high traffic and scale.
• Proven ability to deliver features independently from end-to-end.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP.
• Experience working with Redis and background task runners or work-queue mechanisms.

• Develop, scale, and maintain backend services including Configuration API, TextApp services, and Integration API primarily using Go and supporting existing Node.js services.
• Design and optimize relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, and caching layers like Redis.
• Take full ownership of tasks from ticket picking to production deployment and monitoring.
• Handle cross-team requests and build configuration pools for other engineering teams.
• Participate in technical discussions and architectural decisions advocating pragmatic solutions.
• Migrate and refactor legacy systems into modern scalable solutions without disrupting production traffic.
