Financial Markets / Risk Technology Engineer

West Code specializes in technology projects across investment banking, capital markets, and risk domains, focusing on software engineering combined with financial-markets environment knowledge.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong backend engineering skills in Java, Kotlin, Python, and/or C++
• Experience with distributed, event-driven, or high-volume systems
• Solid understanding of production reliability and failure handling
• Good SQL and data-handling skills
• Good English language skills
• Ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders
• Commercial experience in investment banking, capital markets, asset management, hedge funds, or financial risk technology

Strong Advantage:

• Knowledge of equities, fixed income, FX, credit, or derivatives
• Experience with market data or pricing systems
• Familiarity with trade lifecycle and post-trade processing
• Understanding of market, counterparty, or credit risk
• Experience with positions, P&L, exposure, or limit systems
• Skills in low-latency or high-throughput architectures
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Experience with regulatory reporting or other regulated capital-markets systems

• Develop backend services supporting trading, risk, or capital-markets workflows
• Build real-time and event-driven systems
• Work on market data, positions, exposures, or pricing-related services
• Implement high-throughput data processing and integration pipelines
• Design APIs and integrations across front-, middle-, and back-office systems
• Ensure correctness, resilience, and auditability of systems
• Participate in technical design and architecture decisions with senior engineers and domain stakeholders
• Provide production support and continuous improvement of business-critical platforms
