Senior Business Analyst – BI Rationalization & Migration

This is a role for a Senior Business Analyst in a large international organization from the energy industry, supporting a major program for Business Intelligence (BI) environment transformation.

• Experience in large BI/Data/Analytics environments.
• Experience in portfolio analysis and rationalization of BI.
• Experience in migration or consolidation of dashboards and reporting.
• Experience in enterprise analytics transformation.
• Experience in business analysis in data & analytics projects.
• Experience in assessment and data readiness.
• Experience in requirements engineering.
• Experience in UAT and rollout.
• Experience in decommissioning legacy solutions.
• Experience working with complex environments involving multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to separate genuine business needs from user attachment to existing solutions.
• Ability to formulate recommendations based on data and evidence.
• Self-sufficient, organized, and responsible for own workstream.
• Ability to understand complex BI environments, organize them, and translate into clear decisions, priorities, and actions.
• Very good communication skills with business, data, and technology teams at various organizational levels.

Analysis of BI portfolio:

• Consolidate and verify inventory of dashboards, reports, and analytic products.
• Identify owners, user groups, geographic scope, data sources, business applications, and dependencies.
• Analyze usage and supported business decisions.
• Identify gaps, duplications, and inconsistencies in the existing portfolio.

Rationalization & recommendations:

• Analyze business value, actual usage, user groups, potential duplications, data quality, ownership, strategic importance, and alignment to future architecture.
• Support decisions on whether solutions should be retained, consolidated, developed, migrated, replaced, moved to governed self-service, or retired.

Readiness and migration roadmap:

• Assess business readiness and data readiness.
• Verify KPIs, data sources, ownership, security, access, and data quality.
• Identify gaps and prepare closure plans.
• Build migration wave roadmaps.
• Coordinate dependencies among business, data teams, and delivery teams.

Requirements, UAT, and implementation:

• Translate business needs into business requirements.
• Define personas, use cases, KPIs, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain traceability among business decisions, requirements, testing, and deployment.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Support rollout and adoption of new solutions.
• Plan retirement of legacy dashboards.
• Track risks, dependencies, and project decisions.
