Senior Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer

emagine Polska is hiring a Senior Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer based in Lisbon, focused on maintaining and evolving on-premises infrastructure with growing responsibilities in cloud operations and automation.

• 7+ years experience in infrastructure, systems, DevOps, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with on-premises environments.
• Solid experience with Proxmox (KVM).
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration.
• Proven experience using Ansible in production.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, routing, firewalls, VLANs).
• Strong understanding of storage concepts and high-availability architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI or Jenkins.
• Experience with monitoring and observability stacks.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar.
• Experience with database administration (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Hands-on experience with container technologies like Docker.
• Functional knowledge of Kubernetes with operational focus.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).

On-Premises Infrastructure (Core Focus):

• Operate, maintain, and evolve on-premises infrastructure ensuring availability and performance.
• Administer virtualization with Proxmox (KVM) including clusters and capacity planning.
• Manage storage systems (SAN/NAS) including backup and recovery.
• Perform Linux systems administration, hardening, patching, and security.
• Handle networking concepts like IP networking, VLANs, routing, and firewalls.

DevOps & Automation:

• Automate provisioning and configuration using Ansible and Infrastructure as Code.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with development teams on deployment and troubleshooting.
• Reduce manual tasks through automation.

Cloud Operations (Growth & Consolidation Phase):

• Operate and support public cloud environments (AWS, Azure) mainly IaaS.
• Work in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments ensuring integration and security.
• Apply cloud best practices on cost, security, and reliability.
• Operate and support Kubernetes workloads including networking and storage.

Reliability, Operations & On-Call:

• Ensure high availability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation (L2 support).
• Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and set corrective actions.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and metrics tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with engineering and product teams.
• Create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
• Support onboarding and promote operational best practices.
