Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d)

Awin's Product Development department is responsible for all stages of the product lifecycle from ideation to market release, ongoing operation, and continuous improvement. The role focuses on the Publisher Web, a web experience for publishers and creators to discover advertisers, join programmes, build links, track performance, and grow partnerships. Awin is part of the Axel Springer group.

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience delivering full-stack features end to end.
• Strong experience with Angular (or similar frameworks) and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Java (e.g., Spring Boot).
• Solid API design skills including RESTful APIs, contract-first design (OpenAPI), versioning, error handling, authentication, and authorisation.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, CloudFront) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• AI-native working style: daily use of AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) with ability to steer, verify, and review outputs.
• Strong communication skills in English, comfortable working across technical and non-technical colleagues across locations.

• Build and evolve publisher web applications in Angular on a micro-frontend architecture using the design system.
• Design clear, consistent, and well-documented APIs serving web and mobile clients.
• Build, maintain, and operate Java backend services.
• Own the infrastructure services run on AWS, using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Migrate legacy publisher functionality to the new platform and decommission obsolete apps.
• Use AI agents across coding, reviews, testing, migrations, documentation, and contribute reusable AI skills.
• Collaborate with Product and UX to shape solutions and challenge scope.
• Raise the quality bar via code reviews, automated testing, security, performance, and accessibility.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues timely.
• Mentor other engineers and share knowledge across teams.
