Senior Fullstack Engineer, Automate

The role is part of the Automate team, focused on workflow automation platform powering millions of users.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated expertise in full-stack development
• Strong proficiency in Java and TypeScript/ JavaScript with a modern framework such as React
• Deep understanding of object-oriented design, REST APIs, and modern web development patterns
• Comfortable independently building and shipping frontend features
• Experience building scalable backend systems including database design, caching, and asynchronous processing
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proven ability to influence technical direction via RFCs, design docs, or cross-team collaboration
• Fluent English proficiency (written and verbal)

Nice to have:

• Experience with workflow automation, business process management, or integration platforms
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices
• Track record of leading cross-functional projects or mentoring junior engineers
• Experience with enterprise integrations and API design
• Contributions to open-source projects or passion for software craftsmanship

• Design and implement features for the Box Automate platform with a backend focus and production-quality frontend work in React/ TypeScript
• Develop and optimize backend services ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across distributed systems
• Build responsive user interfaces enabling users to create and monitor automation workflows
• Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to define requirements and deliver features
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to production incidents outside business hours
• Attend weekly stand-ups, team meetings, and manager 1:1s to ensure alignment and continuous improvement
