Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer

• Strong experience delivering infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on capability with Ansible or equivalent tooling including modular design and reuse.
• Proven experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure/platform changes with pipeline-as-code, quality gates, approvals, and auditability.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell with solid troubleshooting and debugging abilities.
• Practical experience administering and securing Linux servers in development and production.
• Working knowledge of database infrastructure concepts and automation needs such as builds, patching, backups, and operational resilience.
• Experience using Git for version control, branching strategies, and code review workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills capable of explaining technical designs clearly across development and operations teams.
• Security-minded approach including secrets management, least privilege, and embedding controls into automation by design.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes for platform enablement, automation, and operational patterns.
• Observability engineering experience including metrics, logs, traces, and SRE-style reliability practices (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets).
• Policy-as-code and compliance automation expertise, including guardrails and automated evidence capture.
• Experience integrating automation with ITSM/change processes and enterprise tooling such as artifact repositories, secrets vaults, and CMDB.
• Experience in financial services or regulated environments with a focus on change control and audit readiness.
• Relevant certifications (Cloud, Terraform, Kubernetes, Red Hat, Microsoft) beneficial but practical delivery experience is prioritized.
• Significant (5+ years) experience in infrastructure engineering and automation with measurable outcomes such as reduced manual effort and improved reliability and compliance.

• Build and maintain declarative Infrastructure as Code to provision and configure on-prem infrastructure components using tools such as Terraform, Ansible (or equivalents).
• Create reusable modules, templates, and automation patterns to standardize delivery and reduce operational risk.
• Automate operating system and database lifecycle activities including provisioning, configuration, patching, baseline hardening, and compliance evidence.
• Design and operate secure CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure configurations and platform automation, integrating with application delivery pipelines when required.
• Ensure pipelines meet enterprise control expectations including segregation of duties, audit trails, secrets handling, and change traceability.
• Collaborate with OS/DB patching and platform engineering teams to support automated platform operations and reduce manual toil.
• Define meaningful infrastructure alerts and dashboards aligned with operational outcomes such as availability, performance, capacity, and change success rate.
• Participate in incident management and on-call/rota arrangements as needed.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and implement automated preventative fixes to prevent recurring incidents.
• Continuously improve engineering practices including code reviews, documentation, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge sharing.
