Senior Java Engineer / Tech Lead

• Minimum 8+ years of commercial experience in software development
• Very good knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and enterprise application development
• Experience acting as a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or senior technical mentor
• Experience developing distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven applications
• Experience with REST APIs, messaging solutions (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ), and system integrations
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong understanding of software design principles, scalability, security, and performance optimization
• Ability to support technical decision-making and guide development teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership mindset
• Willingness to evaluate and adopt new technologies where they create business value
• English and German at B2 level or higher

Nice to have:

• Experience with Machine Learning, LLMs, or AI-driven solutions, or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area

• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Lead technical initiatives within the development team and support engineers in delivering high-quality solutions
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to understand business needs
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution design
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following engineering best practices
• Review code, mentor team members, and promote high engineering standards
• Identify technical challenges and proactively propose improvements
• Support software delivery throughout the entire development lifecycle
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, CI/CD, and engineering practices
• Explore and evaluate new technologies and engineering approaches
