Senior Software Back-End Engineer

Branchspace works with major travel brands, including airlines, to design and deliver world-class digital applications. The company has its head office in central London and the main engineering center in Kraków. They provide digital innovation and consulting services to travel brands and tech vendors.

• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and modern backend development.
• Proven experience designing and building scalable applications and distributed systems.
• Experience with MongoDB and integrating complex business systems like payments, reservations, and data processing platforms.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of web security, application resilience, monitoring, and operational best practices.
• Experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and influencing technical decisions.

Nice to have:

• Experience with QA and Testing.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes.

Technical Leadership & Architecture:

• Design scalable backend systems and contribute to architectural decisions across services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.

Hands-On Engineering & Delivery:

• Develop, review, and maintain high-quality software.
• Own delivery of backend solutions from design through production.

Operational Excellence:

• Improve system reliability, performance, and security via proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and continuous improvement.

Engineering Excellence, Testing & Quality:

• Drive engineering standards through automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end), CI/CD practices, and code quality gates.

Product Collaboration:

• Partner with Product and UX teams to refine requirements, define technical solutions, and contribute to the technology roadmap.

Mentorship & Innovation:

• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and influence technical decisions.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and AI-assisted development practices.
