Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company working on the Waymo Driver, a fully autonomous ride-hail service and platform applied across multiple vehicle types. The technology has driven over 100 million miles on public roads and delivered over ten million rider-only trips across 15+ U.S. states.

• Progressing towards BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field
• Interest in infrastructure work including building internal tools, frameworks, and libraries
• Interest in scaling commercial operations
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Enthusiasm for working on self-driving cars

Nice to have:

• Experience in distributed systems and backend development
• Experience programming in C++ and/or writing robust, efficient code

• Work on backend infrastructure stability and reliability
• Feature development in applications such as Event Response and vehicle maintenance tracking
• Optimize robotaxi marketplace balancing supply and demand
• Design and develop backend and infrastructure supporting ride hailing and AV fleet management
• Design and build ML and optimization models for vehicle routing, demand prediction, passenger destination suggestions, dispatch optimization, and ETA prediction
