Senior Java Trading Systems Engineer

Work on trading systems at a top North American bank, engineering ultra-low-latency architectures for equities, options, FX, and more. The position involves building greenfield and semi-greenfield trading systems, collaborating directly with traders and product teams, focusing on high-performance backend services for algorithmic order management and order routing. This role is fully remote for residents of Poland or Romania, part of a core development team actively building and updating trading systems without legacy maintenance. The company supports the developer through a Polish entity for administrative and operational needs.

• Current Java programming experience with strong understanding of programming concepts including algorithms, complexity, and multi-threading.
• In-depth knowledge of data structures, especially Java collections framework.
• Proven experience building backend services for front-office trading systems.
• Deep understanding of front-office workflows and electronic trading platforms.
• Experience with algorithmic order management systems or order routing systems.
• Expertise in multi-threading, event-driven systems, and performance tuning.
• Ability to create maintainable, high-quality solutions for complex workflows.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in high-stakes, trader-facing environments.
• Knowledge required for building low-latency trading systems measured in microseconds.
• Ability to align work schedule with a 6-hour overlap with US Eastern business hours.
