Software Engineer, Early Careers, PhD, Cloud AI

Google Cloud delivers enterprise-grade solutions leveraging Google’s technology to help developers build sustainably and enable growth for customers worldwide.

• PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with software development in one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript.
• Experience with data structures or algorithms through coursework, research, internships, or practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience developing and deploying distributed systems software.
• Experience developing in C++, Go.
• Knowledge of Python or Java.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes development, including Controllers and CRDs.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning and Large Language Model (LLM) concepts.
• Familiarity with Cloud platforms.

• Work on implementation and designs of Search features, including structured search support, grounding API, reranking based on user interactions, filtering results based on ACLs, and integration with third-party data sources.
• Work on Kubernetes-based infrastructure configuration to meet scalability and performance goals.
• Contribute to the launch of Search and future post-GA roadmap items.
• Contribute to solving novel engineering challenges requiring advanced GenAI capabilities.
