Software Engineer, Performance, Reliability, Observability, PhD, Early Careers

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry with enterprise-grade solutions leveraging Google’s technology. The Performance, Reliability, and Observability team develops unified debugging, profiling, and analytics tools, including machine learning based anomaly detection for Google Cloud systems.

• PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year with an advanced degree in industry.
• 2 years experience with software development involving SQL and advanced algorithms.
• 2 years experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

Nice to have:

• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience with data analysis, big data, f1-sql, log analysis, or machine learning.

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders.
• Contribute to further development of automations and tooling.
• Collaborate on performance and reliability issues involving massive data.
• Work with customers to understand requirements, debug problems, and anticipate needs.
