Lead Technical Tester

Sopra Steria is one of the largest players in the tech industry in Europe, known for consulting, digital services, and software development. The Polish branch operates as the Global Delivery Center in Katowice since 2007 with around 1,000 specialists. The Digital Platform Services department specializes in cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup, storage, networking, and security. The Application Services department handles software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM, ERP platform integrations, and application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK.

• 5+ years of experience in Python development including asynchronous patterns, package design, CLI tooling, and working with REST/gRPC APIs
• Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks for backend service testing
• Hands-on experience with containerized deployments, particularly Kubernetes
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, especially GitHub Actions and GitLab CI
• Experience with OpenTelemetry instrumentation (traces, metrics, logs) within application code
• Ability to design and manage containerized end-to-end test environments mirroring production
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira
• EU citizenship
• Fluent English (B2/C1)
• Openness to occasional business trips abroad and visits to the Katowice office

• Creating automatic and manual tests (test analysis and design plus execution)
• Analysis of test results to suggest ways to improve processes or increase productivity and quality
• Cooperation with developers in diagnosing and correcting errors and error reporting
• Running retests and regression tests (implementation and maintenance)
• Taking care of test documentation
• Leading comprehensive testing efforts across multiple software projects, ensuring products meet quality, performance, and security standards
• Managing critical test case design and reviewing test plans for coverage and effectiveness
• Analyzing complex test results and leading troubleshooting efforts
• Continuously evaluating testing processes and implementing improvements
• Reporting on testing progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management to influence decision-making
