Technical Lead, Home Infrastructure

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. The Health and Home (H&H) team, part of Google's Platforms and Devices product area, focuses on health and home domains, including Fitbit, Google Home app, and Nest ecosystem. The Health and Home Infrastructure team maintains scalable, high-QPS distributed systems ensuring reliability and low-latency performance for Home and Health services. The Health Platforms and Devices team builds products combining Google technologies, AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design to help users manage health and wellness data.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in Java or C++.
• 5 years of experience testing, maintaining, and launching infrastructure and with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale distributed infrastructure or with storage or distributed data processing.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
• 3 years of experience in managing an engineering team.

• Hire and grow the team in Warsaw, establish engineering culture, and manage engineers while maintaining best practices and high engineering quality.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure reliability and low-latency performance of high-QPS distributed systems.
• Review code and provide feedback to ensure best practices including style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines while managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Deliver projects for Home infrastructure ensuring high engineering quality and collaboration with teams in different locations.
