Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Networking, DNS for GKE

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The Cloud DNS team operates at the intersection of the public internet and private network architectures, focusing on scaling a high-performance backend globally with low latency and high availability. Google Cloud provides enterprise-grade solutions to customers in over 200 countries and territories, enabling digital transformation and sustainable development.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

• Work on evolving the Cloud DNS product to become the default for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and adapt DNS features to meet GKE AI requirements.
• Lead and own the design process, driving implementation directly or by leading other developers.
• Communicate and coordinate with product management, program management, and partner engineering teams.
• Ensure product excellence through sound engineering practices, design decisions, code health, test coverage, monitoring, and documentation.
• Lead feature rollouts into production, collaborating with SRE and partner teams to ensure reliability and supportability.
• Provide leadership in platform and strategy evolution, including design, testing, monitoring, support, and production automation.
