Software Engineer III, Borg Control Primitives

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The Cluster Management team in Warsaw manages critical software for Google's data centers, focusing on scalability and performance improvements affecting all Google services. The Technical Infrastructure team supports Google's product portfolio by maintaining data centers and building platforms to ensure optimal network performance.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience coding in languages such as C++, C, Rust.
• Experience in concurrency, multi-threading and synchronization.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Understanding of the Linux ecosystem.

• Implement, debug and enhance various software components for efficient workloads scheduling.
• Develop tools to measure, quantify and fine tune the production load.
• Identify and drive optimizations and improvements to the user experience.
• Design large-scale systems, making the right trade-offs for reliability and maintainability.
• Communicate with partners across Alphabet to gather requirements and drive adoption efforts.
