Senior System Engineer – VDI and Windows Platforms (f/m/x)

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer to join a large, complex technology environment within the financial services sector. The position focuses on designing, developing, and supporting modern workplace platforms used by tens of thousands of users worldwide. You will collaborate with other infrastructure and engineering specialists to ensure reliable, scalable, and well‑structured desktop and virtualisation services across on‑premise environments.

• At least 6 years of hands-on experience with Windows-based systems and virtual desktops
• Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, including configuration and policy management
• Practical experience with virtualisation and container-based platforms
• Advanced scripting skills, with a focus on automation and system management
• Background in supporting large enterprise environments
• Fluent English for daily collaboration in an international setup
• Readiness to work from the office at least three days per week in a hybrid model

• Design, develop, and maintain virtual desktop and application environments
• Roll out system updates, platform upgrades, and new releases across large-scale infrastructures
• Ensure stability and availability of desktop operating systems in on‑site environments
• Handle ongoing operational tasks related to user environments and virtualisation platforms
• Investigate escalated incidents and implement long-term technical improvements
• Create automated and configurable solutions to support deployment and maintenance processes
