Senior Software Engineer, Chrome Web Store Platform

Google develops next-generation technologies that impact billions of users, focusing on large-scale systems, security, AI, and more. The Chrome team builds a better, open web browser available across major platforms and as an open source project.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with browser development or web standards.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, or Typescript.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software for the Chrome Web Store platform and storefront.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of major features and architectural improvements.
• Scope and break down complex technical problems, analyzing alternatives and recommending solutions balancing short-term needs with long-term platform health.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact features.
• Identify and remediate recurring problems, simplifying and standardizing existing solutions.
