Automation Test Lead

Our client is a Scandinavian supplier of software and services for purchasing and tendering processes in highly formalized conditions, such as orders in accordance with public procurement law at the level of the European Union or individual member states. The delivery center is located in Utrecht. Client’s platforms allow to announce tenders and conduct the entire procedure of collecting and evaluating offers at every stage of the purchasing process. They are used both by public administration bodies at various levels in European countries and by purchasing departments of large companies and corporations.

• 5+ years of experience in test automation, with a strong focus on modern web technologies
• Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and coaching engineering teams in quality practices and automation
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and Playwright
• Solid experience with API test automation
• Good working knowledge of Python, used for scripting, tooling, or extending automation capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to identify risks early in requirements and influence development approaches accordingly
• Deep understanding of QA fundamentals: test design, automation strategies, exploratory testing, and defect prevention
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
• Experience with BrowserStack or similar tools for cross-environment testing
• Strong ownership mindset and passion for driving quality at scale

• Lead and coach development teams in building and maintaining high-quality, scalable automated test suites, with a strong emphasis on Playwright (TypeScript) for end-to-end testing
• Act as a quality leader and role model, contributing hands-on to automation (UI & API), as well as exploratory and complex testing scenarios
• Drive test strategy and quality standards, ensuring alignment across engineering and product teams
• Embed quality early in the development lifecycle by reviewing requirements, identifying risks, and guiding teams toward proactive defect prevention
• Design and implement robust automation frameworks using TypeScript/JavaScript (Playwright)
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, mentoring teams and elevating overall engineering quality practices
• Support cross-browser and cross-platform testing using BrowserStack
