Senior Software Engineer, Kubernetes, Google Cloud

Google Cloud delivers enterprise-grade solutions leveraging cutting-edge technology to help developers build sustainably. The Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) is a managed environment for deploying containerized applications, focusing on developer productivity, resource efficiency, and automated operations. The team works on improving performance and cost efficiency of cluster autoscaling in GKE, innovating Kubernetes design.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with Kubernetes, Go, or micro-services.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience with Linux networking stack.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

• Design and implement new networking features in the Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) area.
• Design and develop network virtualization solutions for containers.
• Help external Google Kubernetes Engine customers who encounter issues with production clusters.
• Engage with the open source community to help shape the direction of networking in Kubernetes.
