Software Engineer II, Android Messages

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The Platforms and Devices team works on computing software platforms across desktop, mobile, and applications, as well as first party devices and services combining Google AI, software, and hardware. The team researches, designs, and develops new technologies to enhance user interaction with computing globally.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with full stack development, ideally with emphasis on front-end.
• Experience with Angular, JavaScript, Java or TypeScript.

• Write product or system development code.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
