Lead Python Software Engineer

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring teams.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles.
• Advanced knowledge of Python, including system design, performance tuning, and building distributed systems.
• Experience or strong interest in software architecture principles (UML, microservices, cloud-native patterns) and desire to grow into a full Solutions Architect role.
• Excellent communication skills to resonate with engineers, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
• Interest in HTML/JS and the Palantir Slate framework.
• Ability to research autonomously in R&D topics.
• BS in Computer Science or related field.

• Help build and guide a team of developers, foster a culture of technical excellence and drive the adoption of best practices.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical designs and roadmaps, ensuring software aligns with the broader Skywise strategy.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and framework optimization.
• Develop and optimize complex backend systems using Python and PySpark, ensuring high performance and cost efficiency.
• Oversee the architectural design of frontend components built in Slate, collaborating with teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Ensure product strategy, design, and implementation evolve with customer desires and business needs, applying a customer-centric mindset and design thinking tools.
• Define roadmaps for product evolutions, contribute to vision, understand market forces, represent end-users, support global backlog prioritization.
• Support the team in delivering value and participate in the extended Product Management team defining business priorities and program backlog refinement.
• Oversee the health of the application portfolio by identifying technical debt, managing product lifecycles, and ensuring cost-effective investments.
• Act as a key advisor to Product Owners and Agile teams, providing architectural guidance to build scalable, integrated solutions.
