Mechanical Designer / Test Engineer (f/m)

The Mechanical Designer / Test Engineer is responsible for designing test means and parts, and testing components and systems for Airbus Helicopters development programs. The role is part of the international Airbus Helicopters design office Tests Team. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar and professional experience in mechanical design are required. Experience in mechanical tests and aviation industry is preferred but not mandatory.

• BS in mechanical engineering or similar
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design
• Good knowledge of CAD software (CATIA V5 preferred but not mandatory)
• Experience in preparation of technical documentation (drawings, specifications, etc.)
• Proven ability to identify and solve complex engineering problems
• Experience in aviation industry preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to work in an international team
• Ability to work autonomously
• Good team-spirit
• Language skills: English B2 level at least (additional French or German knowledge will be an advantage)

• Responsible for design of new test benches and its modifications
• Responsible for tracking the manufacturing and assembly processes of new test benches
• Identify test equipment and instrumentation to purchase
• Prepare technical documentation (test plans, test reports, etc.)
• Plan and perform a wide range of helicopter’s parts tests
• Participate in root cause analysis and failure analysis activities
• Document and track all issues discovered by validation testing activities and lead issue resolving efforts
• Be responsible for regular contact with an internal client
• Coordinate with external test labs and suppliers to organize and execute testing
