Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer for our client from the banking sector, who will join a Corporate Credit unit focused on building and modernizing data solutions supporting credit risk and limit management processes. The client is a leading financial group in the Nordic countries with a global presence and a strong focus on modern technology. • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in data engineering and building large-scale data solutions
• Strong experience with modern data warehousing concepts and data modeling
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow
• Experience designing and developing robust ETL/data pipelines
• Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and modern engineering practices
• Ability to independently drive solutions from requirements gathering to production deployment
• Experience working closely with business stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to understanding business domains
• Interest in AI-assisted development tools and engineering productivity improvements
• Very good communication skills in English

Nice to have:

• Experience in banking, financial services, or risk/credit-related domains
• Experience with data integration and orchestration across distributed systems
• Knowledge of AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot
• Experience working in hybrid cloud or enterprise-scale environments

• Support the foundational phase of the new data engineering team, turning business problems into data solutions
• Take ownership of designing and building data models and data pipelines
• Drive modernization from requirements to production, transitioning from fragmented local systems to unified solutions
• Build trusted partnerships with business and stakeholders through effective communication and alignment
• Drive quality and technical leadership by setting high delivery standards, emphasizing long-term reliability and maintainability
• Champion modern engineering practices such as TDD, design patterns, and clean architecture
• Pioneer AI adoption by implementing AI-assisted development practices (e.g., GitHub Copilot, internal agents) to improve engineering productivity
