Senior PostgreSQL Database Engineer

Jit Team has a long-standing relationship with a leading financial group in the Nordic countries, serving as their premier partner in Poland. Over 200 Jit personnel are engaged in more than 60 projects for this Norwegian financial services provider with a global presence and a focus on modern technology. The client emphasizes Scandinavian culture, work-life balance, and feedback culture, with projects executed in international teams and daily use of English.

• Strong hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA / Database Engineer
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, performance, and configuration
• Experience with PostgreSQL on cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud
• Hands-on experience with database migrations (on-prem → cloud)
• Understanding of replication, backup, recovery, and HA concepts
• Experience working in enterprise / regulated environments

Nice to have:

• Experience with PostgreSQL managed services and Google Cloud infrastructure
• Automation and scripting experience
• Familiarity with cloud security and compliance requirements

• Migrate PostgreSQL databases from on-premises platforms to Google Cloud
• Support PostgreSQL running on VM-based and/or managed cloud services
• Perform database upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and optimization
• Support onboarding of applications to PostgreSQL platforms
• Troubleshoot incidents and support change and release activities
• Collaborate with cloud, security, and application stakeholders
• Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles

Remote work is allowed but consultants should be prepared to visit the office in Gdynia, Gdańsk, Warszawa, or Łódź when needed.
