Cloud Technical Solutions Engineer, Networking/Media Content Delivery

The Google Cloud Platform team develops cloud technology products focused on security, reliability, and scalability, serving customers including developers, businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies worldwide. The team supports digital transformation with enterprise-grade solutions and tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 9 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs, triaging technical issues including hardware, software, application, operational, and process.
• Experience with one common scripting or coding language (e.g., Python, shell scripting).
• Experience with operating system kernel, file systems, and TCP/IP network protocols (e.g., DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing).
• Systems experience with Linux, Unix, or similar operating systems (e.g., macOS, Windows).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Kubernetes or container networking.
• Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) in public cloud environments or with SDN software.
• Familiarity with HTTP protocol and APIs based on HTTP.
• Familiarity with network namespaces, packet capture techniques, and interpretation.
• Knowledge of network-specific kernel parameters (TCP keepalives, TCP windows, etc.).

• Work as part of a global team providing 24x7 customer support, including non-standard hours and weekends.
• Manage customer problems through diagnosis, resolution, or developing new investigation tools for Google Cloud Platform products.
• Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and customers to resolve technical deployment obstacles.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of Google Cloud networking technologies and internal implementation details.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to improve supportability and help product teams understand customer issues.

This role requires working in a shift pattern or non-standard work hours, which may include weekend work.
