Senior Software Engineer, AI Agent Ecosystem, ADK

Google Cloud focuses on enabling business success through AI by combining advanced technology, infrastructure, and talent. The role involves shaping the frontier of enterprise AI and advancing the development of AI agents through an open-source, multi-language ecosystem including the agent development kit (ADK). The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization designs and manages hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for Google services and Google Cloud, prioritizing security, efficiency, and reliability.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Kotlin, C++, Java).
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

• Define and drive architectural goals, technical strategy, and roadmap for open-source libraries and SDKs within the agent development kit (ADK) and related protocols.
• Architect and lead development of tooling and infrastructure to improve the AI agent development lifecycle, focusing on testing, debugging, deployment, observability, developer velocity, reliability, and scale.
• Provide technical leadership by managing ambiguous technical issues, mentoring junior engineers, advocating engineering excellence, and influencing technical direction through design reviews and standards.
• Identify and initiate long-term investments to reduce architectural complexity, improve system health, and unlock new capabilities for the AI agent ecosystem.
