Software Engineer II, Consensus

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, owning design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. They build central solutions, break down technical barriers, and strengthen existing systems across Google’s products.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience with full stack development, including back-end (Java, Python, GO, C++) and front-end (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS).

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience in back-end coding languages such as GOLang, Rust, or Java.
• Experience in Machine Learning (ML) model coding languages (e.g., Python).

• Develop, maintain, and simplify complex systems, mainly in C++.
• Engage with customers, participate in design for large-scale, distributed systems.
• Help drive engineering excellence and improve reliability of the stack.
• Work with partner teams (predominantly in New York City and Dublin).
