Senior Oracle Database Engineer

The position is at one of the world’s largest banks, involving stable, long-term projects with opportunities for personal growth and development, including project rotation.

• 8-10 years’ experience in Oracle Database administration.
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c and 19c.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Golden Gate Microservices and Delphix.
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle technologies such as Real Application Cluster, Dataguard, and Grid Control.
• Expertise in RAC and non-RAC database build, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of Configuration and Management of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OMS).
• Experience in database refreshes and patching.
• Solid experience in performance monitoring and tuning at instance and SQL level.
• Performance tuning expert with analysis of AWR, ADDM, ASH reports.
• Experience working with agile practices and tools including JIRA and Confluence.
• Expertise in backup and recovery scenarios.
• Preferred hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience in database build, configuration, upgrade, migration, and patching.
• Strong Oracle and Linux security architecture knowledge.
• Good understanding and working knowledge of DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git, Ansible.
• Strong understanding of DR Test, ITSRP, and OAT processes.
• Good working knowledge of Unix platforms; strong on Backup/Recovery RMAN and RAC.
• Extensive experience in database-related automation.
• Scripting skills in Shell and Python.
• Ability to manage major incidents and coordinate with Incident Management Function and Global Command Centre.
• Experience with other ITID technologies such as Unix, Middleware (WebSphere, Apache HTTP Server & Tomcat, IIS), and Databases (MS SQL, Sybase, DB2).

• Provide technical and process guidance to project teams as a member of the Database Support team and subject matter expert for Oracle infrastructure.
• Consult on database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization.
• Maintain high availability setups, replication setups, and perform capacity planning and disaster recovery planning.
• Meet delivery standards including quality of deliverables and documentation.
• Stabilize Oracle environments demonstrating ownership, commitment, and urgency.
• Proactively review service level agreements to identify capacity issues and implement necessary changes with application teams.
• Assess, analyze, develop, document, and implement changes based on change requests.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Provide troubleshooting support in incidents and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Provide consultancy and collaborate with infrastructure, application, support, and engineering teams.
• Design, implement, and manage Oracle Golden Gate replication solutions.
• Monitor and maintain Golden Gate replication processes ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Perform troubleshooting and resolve replication issues timely.
