Engineering Manager, Hybrid and On-prem AI Infrastructure

The Google Cloud AI Research team works on AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission to bring AI to various industries including tech, healthcare, finance, and retail. The team focuses on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact and collaborates with product teams to bring innovations to customers. The role involves building a groundbreaking on-premises AI supercomputer as part of a special project team.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

• Contribute significantly to the strategic direction for the Hybrid and On Premises (On-prem) Infrastructure business by assisting in defining and delivering architecture and road map initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product and Go-to-Market leaders to implement strategies for migrate, modernize, and workload efforts.
• Work with peer engineers and other managers within Google teams and external partners to influence product and team direction.
• Partner with internal cross-functional organizations and external vendors and partners.
• Contribute to customer advocacy by understanding user needs and helping to deliver solutions that delight and empower users.
